Error Cannot Install Xp
thanks a lot Kyr Doesn't work! [XP pro] Changed the "Multiproccessor free" to "Checked", run the SP3, installed ok, restarted as needed but from this point and on my pc keeps Of course XP is not supported now, nor Vista, so it's better to move on to 7 or 8 if you don't get 10 to work with your PC. but right now the install process with windows xp32 works fine but I got recently 8gb additional ram memory installed so I will try later to change the installation to xp64

Techo Thanks. Your BIOS is not reading the CD at startup and is moving onto the hard drive, which I assume is the second boot device. You don't want XP x64 anyway, it's based on Server 2003 and had very limited hardware support. I also tried out Seatools for DOS from Seagate and both it's short and long tests fail on the harddrive.

And after this I couldn't restart my computer, I would solve the problem with reinstalling XP again, but from this time it says it could not copy his files.

I spent most of the day trying to find a copy of SP3 (no longer available on Microsoft.com) and when I did finally get one to download (filehippo), it stalled out It'll help you in finding out which software is causing this problem. Any ideas would be appreciated. It copies so many files but then randomly stops stating that it can't copy a specific file, and asks me to try again or skip.
Windows XP does not have this generic driver and requires you to supply specific chipset drivers. ChuckB_38 June 17, 2009 5:46:08 PM In your Bios check heading 'Main' it contains time, date, memory, etc. It sounds like the Windows XP CD is not bootable. But a different file pops up instead.
I think this is because the DVD DRIVE is the 'Master' or something). Raj thanks bro its working. u might have tried harder to do that....because I did........... Now it should install without any problem.
I highlight the C: Partition (NTFS) and press the 'D' to delete it. All you have to worry about is drivers.
