Don't have the solution yet but 2 little work-arrounds. But this is highly irritating. I'm not sure why its trying to create a PDB file (Program Debug Database) but Release builds don't need debugging symbols. I did a reinstall of VisualStudio.Net, and was able to complile fine.

My solution holds two projects, Gatos.BusinessLogic.Amortization which is a COM+ component, and Gatos.BusinessLogic.Amortization.Test which is a windows application to test the COM+ component, it therefore has a reference to the COM+ VB.NET ($99) vs.
